Corrosion Of Conformity are *finally* back with Pepper (after only over a decade) and a new album that does not disappoint, to make a massive understatement. This entire album is a solid nugget of the best stoner rock Corrosion Of Conformity is known to deliver, and they deliver a good crop of tunes in style. There is nothing lacking here, from the ZZ Top-ish 'Little Man', to the mellowness and stomping crush of 'Nothing Left To Say'. 'Wolf Named Crow' and 'Old Disaster' are textbook Corrosion, look no further for that classic swagger. Make no mistake, there's no shortage of killer riffage in this old horse. I think Woody's shredding gets better on every album, one of the best in their catalog. You may be thinking 'well, nothing new here then'...not quite, interludes like 'Matre's Diem' and 'Scared Isolation' really add variation and depth to the album, without tripping up the album flow. The title track is a slower, melancholy tune with a dark acoustic feel, while the last track 'Son and Daughter' ends on a dirty, distorted mountain of fuzz.
