This is a nice 3 cd set that attempts to cover Wacken 2004, (a little hard to do considering the huge lineup they had). The first cd kicks off right with Anthrax ripping through a kickass version of "Indians", followed by "Only". Destruction, Children Of Bodom, (throwing down "Sixpounder") Cannibal Corpse, (a sick rendition of "Gallery Of Suicide") Mayhem, Death Angel, Unleashed, (bringing the thrash with "To Aasgard We Fly") and Ektomorf follow before Cathedral wraps up the disk with "Stained Glass Horizon".
The 2nd disk starts off with 2 tracks from Dio, followed by Nevermore's "Enemies Of Reality", not the track I would've picked, but eh..Eventually we get to Motorhead stomping through "We Are Motorhead", and "Life's A Bitch" before rounding out with Paragon, Weinhold, Feinstein, etc.
Highlights of disk 3 include 2 tracks from Reckless Tide, who sound like fine heavy as hell old-school thrash. Hobbs Angel Of Death lay down the evil with "Crucifiction"...why doesn't anyone else write riffs like Mercyful Fate anymore? Gutbucket is pretty decent, Supersoma also, Methedras obviously grew up listening to Slayer. There are alot of decent bands I've never heard on here, plus it's a great recording of the Wacken festival. Check it out.
