I've got sort of a love/hate thing with Suplecs...ok, actually I was just dissapointed with their "'Wrestlin' With My Lady Friend' album after hearing their killer "Sad Songs...Better Days" album first. This new offering, (produced by none other than Pepper Keenan of C.O.C. and Down fame), has plenty of punk tempos and Fu-Manchu-isms...with occasional hints of the trippy southern tinged guitar leads that give Suplecs their balls. While it doesn't top "Sad Songs..." in my book, this one does have it's moments. "Gotta Pain", and the instrumental "Cites Of The Dead", stand out, while "Welcome Home", "Tsunami", and "Black Cloud" have some killer riffs, but the vocals could stand some improvment.
