Wow, heh...this is...different. Lamb Of God almost picks up where Carcass left off - slower, melodic death metal. Of course I appreciate the doublebass and deep growling death vocals. The riffs groove, and the songs are far from boring. Most of the tunes are mid-tempo, though there are a few obvious odes to speed/death mixed in here and there. All in all it's heavy as hell and Lamb Of God is badass. I do find it amusing though that "In The Absence Of The Sacred" has the exact same riff as Sepultura's "Nomad" in it. Damn, you'd think someone would've told 'um.
