Wow, the first track on the new Grand Magus sounds more like old In Flames than stoner rock, kind of strange for a band that previously sounded more like Corrosion Of Conformity than Iron Maiden. Grand Magus have apparently sped up a bit, and infused a healthy dose of old-school European metal. But that's ok, they're from Sweden, so it's all good. There's still a hint or 2 of the old Magus sound, some doom and gloom, some southern rock soul, but overall this is a new direction and I liked the previous path better. There are already enough bands that sound like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest, (including the originals themselves).
