I'm starting to wish I had a vinyl copy already...like their last album, Electric Wizard has gone to whatever lengths to do this entirely analog...which is fantastic, but a bit pointless when it gets to cd and mp3. Digital media destroys the sound they're going for here, but enough about that. The songs are freakin' great. You can hear everything in the mix, the vocals are just right, not too-over drenched in effects, and it's epic stoned out horror-doom imported from England from a solid band, so you really can't go wrong here. Electric Wizard just sort of saunter into your speakers on this album, you get lost in their hypnotic dark grooves and the next thing you know they're sucking your blood and the couch is trying to eat you. Worst of all the munchies come on next...or something. The little guitar leads are very well placed and blend in like camoflage with the wall of riff, bass, drums and haunting drones. Do I like it better than the last couple? I'd have to say yes.
